Rose Cellulose

Rose cellulose is a regenerated cellulose fiber made using rose petal or stem waste — often sourced from the floral industry. The fiber is processed similarly to viscose or modal, where plant-derived cellulose is extracted, dissolved, and spun into fine threads. While still considered a semi-synthetic fiber, rose cellulose incorporates floral waste into the supply chain, aligning with zero-waste and circular design values.

The resulting fabric is lightweight, soft, and breathable, with a silky finish and gentle drape. It’s used in fashion for flowy garments, linings, and scarves, and is occasionally blended with other natural fibers. Though relatively new and niche, rose fiber is gaining attention for its innovative use of botanical waste and visual appeal.
