Cashmere is a luxury fiber obtained from the soft undercoat of cashmere goats, primarily raised in Mongolia, China, Iran, and Nepal. The fiber is collected during the goats’ natural molting season, usually through combing rather than shearing. Cashmere is known for being significantly warmer and softer than sheep’s wool while remaining lightweight.

The fiber is used in premium garments such as sweaters, scarves, coats, and loungewear. While prized for its softness and insulation, traditional cashmere production has raised concerns around overgrazing, land degradation, and labor practices.
