La ropa orgánica se fabrica con fibras naturales. Estas fibras provienen de plantas, son biodegradables y renovables.

El crecimiento de cualquier planta depende de diferentes procesos agrícolas y de insumos como semillas y nutrientes. Las plantas orgánicas se cultivan sin el uso de ciertos pesticidas, herbicidas ni fertilizantes sintéticos, y no están modificadas genéticamente (OGM). Este es un proceso de bajo impacto que utiliza menos agua en comparación con las granjas convencionales.

El OCS 100 es un estándar reconocido mundialmente que certifica el contenido orgánico de textiles y otros productos. Este certificado aplica a cualquier producto no alimentario que contenga entre un 95 % y un 100 % de material orgánico.
