♻ Recycled Leather FAQ'S

Contenido desplegable

¿Por qué el contenido ♻ Recycled Leather se considera de bajo impacto?

  • Recycled Content

Recycled leather is usually produced from pre-consumer leather scraps generated during manufacturing. These scraps are ground and bonded into sheets using binders (which may be synthetic or natural), then finished for use. Production commonly appears where leather goods and footwear manufacturing are concentrated, including parts of Europe and Asia. The main challenges are variability in binder chemistry, limited standardized definitions, and potential confusion with “genuine leather” or “bonded leather.” Certifications may include GRS when recycled inputs and chain-of-custody are verified (less common in leather composites), and some tanneries use LWG (Leather Working Group) ratings for tanning practices — though LWG is not a recycled-content certification. Recycled leather is used in belts, small accessories, bags, labels, and furniture components.

Recycled Composite Low-Impact Material

¿Cuál es el origen de Cuero ?

Leather is produced from animal hides, most commonly cattle, as a byproduct of the food industry. It has been used for thousands of years across cultures for protection, utility, and craft. Leather is biodegradable in its natural state, but its environmental impact depends largely on tanning processes and chemical use. Responsible leather focuses on reduced-impact tanning, improved waste management, and transparency in sourcing. Leather is widely used in footwear, bags, belts, furniture, and accessories, valued for its strength, repairability, and ability to age gracefully.
