Why is 100% TENCEL™ Modal content considered low-impact ?

TENCEL™ is a trademarked brand of fibers produced by the Austrian company Lenzing AG. It includes both TENCEL™ Lyocell and TENCEL™ Modal, which are regenerated cellulose fibers made from sustainably sourced wood — primarily eucalyptus, beech, or spruce. What sets TENCEL™ apart is its closed-loop production process, which reuses over 99% of the water and solvents (like non-toxic NMMO) during manufacturing. The resulting fibers are biodegradable, soft, strong, and certified to meet high environmental standards.

TENCEL™ is widely used in fashion, bedding, and personal care textiles for its smooth texture, breathability, and moisture-wicking qualities. Lenzing’s supply chain transparency and sustainability certifications (including FSC® and OEKO-TEX®) make TENCEL™ one of the most trusted and eco-conscious branded fibers available in the market today.
